Day 409: 66团 (Regiment 66) = 0km

After yesterday’s 50k, I didn’t feel like walking anymore.

So I spent a quiet day in the regiment. Strolled through its parks…

…through its streets:

…through its living quarters:

…and through its back alleys:

One time I got to a market:

I looked at spices…

…at toys…

…and at pig heads:

And given the awesome video function of my new camera, I couldn’t help but make a short clip about it:

…and another one, taken around the central square, while the evening news were being broadcast all over the little settlement:

I was going to reach ä¼Šå® (Yining) tomorrow.

And meet a friend there.

Soundtrack: -the news-

-total: 5369,3km

I wonder if the pigs found their lives beautiful.

Is it allowed for a foreigner to stay in regiments in Xinjiang? I thought it was not since they are military settlements. Did you have any police face-ups minding your staying? I once had in Chinese Altay for “suspicious behaviour”, Big Brother is watching…
