“Um, ‘scuse me, where’s the Mona Lisa?”
Sunday, April 17th, 2011One of the best jobs I ever had was this one:
The reason you see me wearing nice clothes in the picture is that I was supposed to be a respectable agent de sécurité of the Musée du Louvre.
And I would answer the same question about the same painting at least a billion times a day.
If you were in Paris in the summer of 2003, and you thought it was a good idea to be bouncing around in the fountains outside of the glass pyramid, then it was probably me who told you to get the fuck out of there.
During my breaks I would just wander around and marvel at all the good things, and sometimes also at the tourists who seemed to be obsessed with that certain painting:
…in the end I ended up taking a picture of it as well though:
Working in the Louvre was awesome.
…
On a side note: someone recently pointed out that I am addicted to alcohol. And, in order to prove that point, here is another brand of vodka that I am presenting to you, my drunken friends:
Пять Озёр (Five Lakes). I liked this proud Siberian brand definitely better than Кедровица (Kedrovitsa), also from Siberia. This one tasted smoother and more unique – it almost felt “cooling” before it went down the throat and made for that nice warm vodka feeling.
An undisputed 8/10.
