the standard
Saturday, January 22nd, 2011Today I did something that I had never done before – I edited previous blog entries for content.
I had to revise five of my vodka verdicts:
1) Beluga is now a 9,5/10. The reason why it didn’t get the top rating before was because I thought it was simply too expensive. I reconsidered, and now I think the price tag should not be that relevant. – But then I reconsidered again, and decided to subtract a half score from every brand that was significantly more expensive than the others.
2) Belvedere is a 9,5/10 and gets a half point subtraction.
3) Imperia is a 7,5/10. It gets a half point subtraction.
4) Kauffman is a 7,5/10. Half point subtraction as well.
(All of the above cost more than 40 euros per 1 liter.)
5) Зелёная Марка (Green Mark) is getting a 10/10 rating now.
Too many top ratings? Well, here is another one:
Русский Стандарт (Russian Standard).
This one is the little sister of both Русский Стандарт (Russian Standard) – Platinum edition and Imperia, and interestingly enough, I like it much better than the other two!
I think this vodka has it all – it tastes absolutely smooth and leaves a complex aroma that kind of reminds me of… wheat fields.
Enjoy this with a slice of good bread, and you will agree: a 10/10.
