sneeze lapse
This weekend was a total allergy-overkill. I sneezed my way up and down a beautiful valley called “Kaisertal” in the Austrian alps.
Nice nature, nasty nose.
Of course I felt compelled to make another time lapse video:
This one includes 804 photographs (tripod, remote, manual settings: 1/250sec. f7.1 ISO100 polarizer 5sec-intervall)
I think I shouldn’t have allowed the chapel to dominate the frame. It’s very pretty by itself, but I don’t like how it flickers when it gets in the shade. The bushes left and right of the frame are annoying as well. Instead of trying to get so close to the chapel, I really should have concentrated more on the clouds and the distant mountains in the background. Oh well, next time!
On a side note: I bought a bicycle, and I ride it around town, listening to AC/DC. I feel very cool on my bike.
As long as I’m not sneezing.
Soundtrack: AC/DC – “Hell’s Bells” (live)

Allergy is such a useless pain, I feel really sorry for you. Maybe you could ask your GP for AERIUS 5 mg which helps me to supress everything at least a bit. They dont have so much side effects like the other over the counter medics.
You make me laugh because you are so self-critical, every situation never not seems right, eh ;) Try a motion control rig to go completly nuts while doing your timelapse.

Hi Christoph,
Beautiful day for it, nice angle too and that church has so much character. Maybe if you ask God nicely on another day he/she might just grant your wishes and have the clouds just skimming across the mountain tops. Hehe.
Oh, you’ve inspired me to produce a timelapse too, hope you can find the time to view it. http://anton-off-the-beaten-track.blogspot.com

Guilherme Herz: Try it, it’s so much fun! :)
Ingo: Oh, I wouldn’t even dare to touch a motion rig, haha! Seriously, I am not trying to be overly critical with my time lapse thing, but I want to get better results through practice and observation!
Anto-San: Oh, I liked that bug video you made! Looked creepy but beautiful! Tell me one thing though: did you get a macro lens to shoot bugs, or are you shooting bugs because you got a macro lens? Sounds funny, but the reason I am asking is, I have been thinking about getting a macro lens, just I don’t know what to shoot with it…

zmh: Oh shit, the shitty wall is giving you troubles? Sorry to hear that man! I’ll might be in China this summer as well, hope the Internet won’t be too much of a hassle!!

well, i’m not very optimistic about that but if you need any help in geeky style, i’ll be glad to lend you a hand.

Sorry for the late reply Christoph regarding your question about Macro. I have some Kenko Extension Tubes. The beauty of these things is that they convert ANY lens into a macro lens at a fraction of the cost of a lens solely dedicated to macro.
You should check them out.
For your money you get 3 different sizes which inturn gives you a variety of combinations. As for what to shoot, well, I’ll shoot anything if it moves. Lol.
And I’m sure you’ll come up with some beautiful and probably very interesting shots.
P.S Very happy that the MASTER of TIMELAPSE likes the bug vid. Cheers.

zmh: I’ll get back to you about this as soon as I am in China!
Anto-San: Loved the bug, the converter tubes seem to yield really good results! If you want to check out the true Master of Timelapse, then look for a Japanese guy called “Mockmoon” on Youtube. His videos are so awesome they make eyes watery…
