fog, ice-cream and vodka
Thursday, August 5th, 2010Today I received a request by the family dog Rachel to go for a walk:
So we stumbled through the fog for a little while:
There was a little kid with an eye-patch riding a bike:
And an old dude with a tattoo repairing a car:
…
In the afternoon my friends took me out shopping. We went to the bazar:
There were different halls that sold different things. Meat…
…dairy products…
…and fruit:
I liked the last one best.
Tell you a secret: Russians make very good ice-cream. And LOTS of it:
They even have ice-cream in the shape of a sausage…
…or, better yet, the occasional liter of communist ice-cream:
It says: “Workers of the world, unite!” in 15 languages on the box.
…
Tonight I got to try two brands of vodka. Георгиевская (Georgievskaya):
And Калашников (Kalashnikov):
Hard to decide which one was better. Георгиевская had a very good taste (birch-flavored: 8/10), while Калашников definitely had the better bottle design, though didn’t taste as good (6/10).
But it had a way cooler name.
