I(H)C19 – The Mo(u)rning
Monday, January 12th, 2009You’re probably wondering what the hell I am doing.
The truth is, I am in the process of figuring things out for myself.
Posting the “I (heart) China” series is a way for me to keep this blog going. At the same time, it is a way to deal with things past.
The picture below is from the Five-Finger-Mountain (五指山) on Hainan Island (海南岛):
Mount Wuzhi, January 12th 2006.
It was taken at 5:30 in the morning. There was no real tourist infrastructure at that time, and I had to light my way up the mountain using the display of my mobile phone. It seemed like a world without people; all I could hear were the whispering sounds of the rainforest and an occasional dog barking in the distance.
At one time, I almost bumped into a cow that was asleep on the road.
It scared the living hell out of me.
