east west north or south
day 162: 青江驿 (qingjiangyi) - 翟所 (zhaisuo) = 21,3km
Like I said before, there was a pair of donkeys in the yard of the farmhouse I was staying at:
And there was this little pig:
You might remember I’ve always had a thing for goofy-looking animals (December 20th 2007, December 22nd 2007).
Lots of fun with this adorable one:
(Sorry I kind of speak to animals in my mother language only - it just feels more natural!)
The landscapes in this area were fantastic (even though it rained):
Some things sometimes make me wonder though:
Like, how in hell did the truck get there? Did it get dropped from an airplane?
I stopped in a little place called 太平 (taiping) and watched some middle school students play ball:
Then the kids started flocking around me, getting more and more:
…and more:
(Can you even find me on this picture?)
…and more:
I pretended I couldn’t speak any Chinese, just to give them a chance to practice some English with me, and even though they were a bit shy (I know the video doesn’t make them look shy at all), we kind of managed to communicate. What a fun time!
And then I was back to the beautiful landscapes again:
You’ve heard me say that the other day I was totally reminded of Scandinavia (April 10th 2008) - well today I thought I was in America:
There has been a place four months ago that was also kind of like this (December 17th 2007):
The good thing about a canyon is you are naturally on top and looking down at the thing:
Mountains are different, they make you climb up first - and then you can reap the reward.
All these questions don’t matter to the sheep though:
Up or down, east west north or south, they only want one thing.
Eat the grass.
