So anyways I stayed in my hotel room on the 24th floor almost all day:
I had a good serving of 宫保鸡丁 (kungpao chicken) and ate around the red things:

Later that night, my friends took me out to a special restaurant:

By the way, a common name for the thing is 金钱菜 (jinqiancai - “money dish”), because it looks like the coins used in ancient China:
