cakes, carousels, and captive canines

day 94: 运城 (yuncheng) = 0km

We went out to the park to have some fun:

Okay, I gotta admit it – I didn’t take any of the rides, I had enough fun just taking pictures.

For example, I snapped a shot of these little dudes riding the plastic bubble:

little dude (singing): “Foreigner, I hate you, I hate you!”

me (the foreigner): “Now why would you say that, little friend?”

little dude: “Ah?? The foreigner can speak Chinese? D’oh!!”

Christoph wins. Fatality.

Muhahahaha…

Anyways, it seemed like the whole town was out strolling in the park at the same time:

I had fun just snapping pics:

Street photography turned into park photography I guess:

I particularly like these two:

They were so serious somehow, sipping on their 珍珠奶茶 (pearl milk tea).

There was one more temple in 运城 (yuncheng) that I hadn’t seen yet:

This one is of course also about 关羽 (guanyu), though it seems like it’s just not as nicely been taken care of.

In a hidden corner on the temple grounds, I heard a saddening sound and saw a saddening sight:

I don’t know what to say.

It just made me sad.
