Remember I told you about the invisible Russians (January 2nd 2008) before?

Well, they’ve gotten pretty…visible now:

Almost everything, every hotel and restaurant at 大东海 (dadonghai) sports a sign in Russian and Chinese.

…and then there are even some places that seem to cater only to Russians:

There are some cultural differences though.

For instance, the Russians seem to enjoy going to the beach during the day. I think they just wanna get tanned that’s what it is. Most of the time they seem to only seem to get very bad sunburns though.

The Chinese tourists, on the other hand, come out to play when it’s late and the sun is about to set. It’s all about staying pale for them, so some of the ladies show up with umbrellas:

So anyways the beach at 大东海 is always full of people:

…the little ones are building castles or pagodas or pyramids:

…some dudes are even trying to catch fish :

…and if you continue all the way to the western end of the beach, where it gets rocky, there are a couple of local ladies harvesting some kind of weird worm that looks pretty disgusting:

“It’s very tasty!” they tell me.

I didn’t even bother taking a picture.

I usually don’t like doing that, but now I’ve come to think maybe a little non-standard cropping can be nice sometimes.
