day 294: [三亚 (sanya)] = 0km

I was feeling a lot better today, so we went out:

Ah yes, that’s right:

We went to a very nice place…

There were even some stranded jellyfish:

We took a walk along the beach when we got to an artificial island called “凤凰岛” (“phoenix island”) – they’re planning to build a multiple star hotel resort there.

I thought that was interesting.

Up until now though, the whole area is off-limits to visitors, and the little children are still playing with the fishing boats in the water under the bridge:

The fishing port is close by:

…a beautiful place that always seems to burst with an abundance of colors:

I love the fishing port.

Here’s a picture from January 2006, when I had come here for the first time:

From a photography kind of view, I think I have more clarity now, but the hats somehow looked nicer on the older picture.

Here’s another new one:

Oh well.

There are some pretty disgusting things here too though:

I think this is the outside of some fish.

…from a different angle:

This must be its inside.

Ew!

Later that day we got some of our stuff stolen at the beach.

Well, we had of course left everything valuable at home and taken the key with us into the water.

Nonetheless, an unknown person (thief) is now the proud owner of:

- a small amount of money,

- Juli’s skirt,

- my shorts,

- my underpants,

- and the German novel I was reading.

I am not mad. But I would like to point out something to the unknown person (thief):

Stealing isn’t right.

But if we choose to steal other people’s property anyhow, shouldn’t we at least try to have some manners?

It’s all there in that phrase: “please count on the spot the money thing” – and it means: take the money if you have to, but toss me my book back!

Can you even read it?

And what are you going to do with my sweaty underpants anyways?
