Wednesday, August 20th, 2008day 286: [æˆéƒ½ (chengdu)] = 0km
Alright you guys, I know there’s probably some of you who can’t wait to see me back on the trail asap.
Sounds good, and I do miss the desert quite a bit actually, but I’m going to have to tell you that it’s not going to happen within the next three weeks.
…you might have figured out that my girlfriend Juli is staying in China for a little while (her…again), so I want to spend some time with her.
That’s why we boarded a plane to her hometown æˆéƒ½ (chengdu) in the province of Sichuan (å››å·) today:
You see, I’d probably be a bit disappointed too: what’s with all the flying to different places all the time? why isn’t that insolent bastard just WALKING as he’s supposed to?
Well, I can only tell you that I will most likely continue to walk during the second week of September. So if you’re sick of me taking pictures and writing about stuff that doesn’t seem to have anything to do with the way, just take a break for now and drop back in later when I’m hauling my caboose through the desert again.
Please remember though: to me, all of this is part of the way.
…
So anyways if you wanna know what’s happening now, here’s the geography:
There are four dots on the map – the top left one is 敦煌 (dunhuang), the desert city where I have left off two weeks ago (the film on my skin), the top right one is 北京 (Beijing), and the one in the middle is æˆéƒ½ (chengdu), the place where I’m going now.
Then there’s another dot on the bottom, but I’ll tell you more about that later.
Maybe through another anagram?
