night music
Thursday, May 29th, 2008day 203: 安远 (anyuan) - 古浪 (gulang) = 32,9km
Luckily I didn’t get sick last night, otherwise I would have had to go to the place where many chose to rather relieve themselves outside:
- Only the very brave and the desperately needy would ever go in there:
A place better to be avoided.
…
So anyways I was really happy to leave this hell hole and get out to where the winds played with the mountains:
- so fresh & so clean -
There were some encounters with people on the road, though not many, and it was all just kind of passing by.
This gentleman I liked because of the orange color of his suit:
This lady’s smile warmed me all the way across the 4-lane highway:
…and these folks were up there taking a break from work on a landslide fixture:
I asked them - this particular landslide hadn’t been because of the earthquake two weeks earlier.
…
You can see the river bend on the map:
It was so boring to walk for miles and miles down there, so I was glad when I found a small temple in the hills:
I took my shoes off, sat down and thought about things.
Questions, and answers.
Then I got on my way again, and the road suddenly seemed much nicer:
When I got to 古浪 (gulang), it was already getting pretty late, but since I found myself walking right past a pagoda on a hill anyway, I decided to climb up and take some night shots:
So here’s the outcome - sound and pictures taken in the same location:
It’s called “night music” . . .
Soundtrack: Doc Gynéco - “Caramel”
