good food poor loo
Monday, May 19th, 2008day 193: 河口 (hekou) - 土槽湾 (tucaowan) = 15,6km
See the green thing I’m crossing through on the map?
Well, it’s a long fertile valley, just like an oasis…
…embedded between the arid mountains in the east and in the west:
One of the local specialties they grow here is a kind of rose-bud.
…too bad they had already finished harvesting almost all of it when I got there today:
It must have been very pretty to look at just a short time ago.
…
I’m spending the night in a small village that seems to consist of only a dozen houses. There’s a small antique shop though:

…
And here’s to everyone who might have gotten some weird ideas about this walking thing being all lonely and stuff - it’s called “dinner with people you’ve just met”:
The lady who runs the antiquities shop/guesthouse put some roses in my room because I had told her that I liked them.
Then we had some authentic countryside cuisine:
I guess this is what it comes down to today: good food poor loo.
