little things

A day in a little town.
I wander around looking for decent chocolate:
I write up yesterday’s post, fix some things on the site and try to stock up on movies.
The afternoon sees me hanging out in a little store next to my hotel, when a girl comes in with this:
“海洋宝宝” - a kind of awkward translation could be “ocean baby”.
Sells for 0,5rmb a piece, gets bigger when put in water.
“Don’t touch them, they’re alive!” she says in an excited voice and smiles happily:
Looking at what appears to be chunks of rubber floating there in the plastic bag, I figure it doesn’t really matter whether they’re alive or not.
It’s good to love little things, even if it’s for the wrong reasons.
