Talking about oneself can get pretty tiring…

You guys remember 珂珂 (keke - April 5th 2008) - how about we take a look at her life for a change?

No, this is not her, it’s one of the things she sees on her way to the calligraphy class she takes once a week:

Her teacher 林玉峰 (lin yufeng) is a pretty well-known artist in 平凉 (pingliang).

Just the other day, he made a painting of 崆峒山 (Mount Kongtong) with his left hand:

Like most people, he usually works right-handed, but that day up on that mountain he had felt so delighted that he wanted to do something different when painting this piece.

Well, 珂珂 and the others are still on their way to learn the basics, writing character after character after character:

During the week, when she’s not taking classes and her parents are both at work, 珂珂 spends her time in a kindergarten near her home:

And have lunch out of little bowls together:

One thing they will never forget:

“我爱祖国” - “I love the motherland”.

Sometimes on the weekends, 珂珂’s mom takes her out to the park:

It would usually be just the two of them, mother and daughter - and lots of fun things to do:

There would be other kids around, little boys:

Like most kids in China, 珂珂 is an only child. She lives with her mom and dad in an apartment on the sixth floor in a large building complex that belongs to the power plant both her parents work for:

The two jobs pay pretty well. They allow for the apartment, a mid-size car and for a German piano that 珂珂 practices four times a week:

Besides calligraphy and the piano, 珂珂 also loves painting:

This is one of the many pieces she has done at her grandparents’ house, which is only a couple of blocks away from her home.

She often spends the weekends there when her parents are working overtime.

As you can see, the five figures in the center of the painting represent this year’s Olympic mascots.

珂珂 says she is very interested in the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

It’s platform diving that she likes best.
