inner linings
Thursday, March 27th, 2008day 140: 泾川温泉 (jingchuan hot springs) - 泾川 (jingchuan) = 7,2km
I walked such a short distance today!
Basically just a stretch of clean road…
…had me limping into the center of 泾川 (jingchuan):
Limping?
Limping:
I know these blisters don’t look so bad, and the one on top is really nothing - but believe me, the bottom one hurts like a bitch!
Here’s why:
Guess I hadn’t always strapped my laces tight enough in the past, anyways this had cost me my inner lining and the happiness on today’s parade.
I got a room in a better hotel and thought about my options…
There wasn’t going to be a professional trekking shoe repair for the next 400km.
…the only thing I could do now was go to the market:
That’s where I found 吕先生 (Mr. Lü):
He explained how he would fix the shoe, what materials he would use and where he would glue and stitch.
Then I went back to my room to read up on the Internet, hoping to find some indication how to solve this problem.
I thought that was a smart move; first get educated, then make a decision.
Well, there’s other things you can only learn by try&error:
Cucumber flavored potato chips??
How disgusting!
I’ll get the shoe fixed tomorrow.
