looking for a connection
Saturday, March 1st, 2008day 114: 西安 (Xi’an) – 西安 (Xi’an) = 12,6km
Today saw me and my tour guide run around 西安 (Xi’an) looking for a hotel with better Internet access:
I was in desperate need to upload a huge amount of pictures I had taken over the last few weeks, and none of the hotels downtown seemed to have network facilities that were really up to the task.
So we just walked around and did some sightseeing on the way:
Ha, I like the part with the lady on the bike in this video. She got a bit mad, though.
Well, in our search for broadband Internet, we walked all the way to the southern city wall and past:
We stopped at an outdoor retailer on the way:
…and I was FINALLY able to get a pair of nice new walking sticks, a new therma-rest, some socks and a nylon bag for my tent. Oh yeah!
I found some nice shades as well, but at a price tag of 700rmb I figured I might as well get a baseball cap for cheap and forget about wearing sunglasses.
So anyways, we walked all over town:
This is my guide æ¨ç޲ (yang ling) after a march of ten kilometers that day:
We had finally managed to find a hotel by then, which was located out in the western economic development district:
Where there is broadband everywhere.
And I just found out they even have a swimming pool in my hotel.
