This post is basically just me saying Merry Christmas from Pingyao. Tonight is Silent Night, and I am planning to rest for a few days.

Me and my fuzz are saying:

Christmas Wishes from Pingyao

MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM PINGYAO.

I hope all of you are well, and that you’re having a nice and warm holiday season.

Life is good over here. I usually don’t tend to get homesick, but Christmas can be a whole different story. Remember how I showed you the advent calendar that I was lugging around? I like the holiday season very much. And sometimes, when I am traveling, it can make me I miss home.

And so it was extra nice that I wasn’t alone this year. She had come to see me. Pingyao is a touristy town, so we got ourselves a room in one of its better hotels, and we were not planning on moving very much over the next few days. Christmas can be about many things, one of which is the joyful feeling of being in a warm room when it’s cold outside.

As I am writing this the hotel broadcasting system on the hallway has been playing “Jingle Bells” nonstop for the last two hours. It’s not the worst Christmas song in the world. That would be Wham, I think. Or Mariah Carey. I’m not sure. Humans like to ruin nice things, so naturally there are lots and lots of annoying Christmas songs.

Anyway “Jingle Bells” is also a bit annoying. Especially when it’s on repeat.

I am wondering if I can go to the hotel management, extend my Christmas Wishes to them, and ask them to change songs.

As it turns out I might have a suggestion.

Hi Christoph, wie kann es sein, dass Du am 23.12. 740km hinter Dir hattest und am 24.12. nur noch 700km. Du läufst doch hoffentlich nicht in die falsche Richtung?
